THANKSGIVING IS COMING AND YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS?

It means someone else gets to cook the turkey while you and the kids come out and participate in Tommy D’s Turkey Day Ride for Juniors!

Last year had a record breaking number of participants of all ages and we hope to surpass that this year!    This year instead of riding on the road we are going to hang out at Tommy D’s and ride the course he has built on his property.  Ramps, obstacles and lots of fun for all ages.  There will be a Strider course too!.   There will be an opportunity for time trials on the course and just for having fun out there!

Some additional highlights:

  • Skratch Labs will be onsite with Oatmeal – Yum!
  • Prizes from Giro
  • Lots of yummy goodies
  • You can order a t-shirt (this way everyone gets the right size!)
  • Great way to stay out of the way of those that are cooking Thanksgiving Dinner

  • Registration is free except for parents who will be participating on a bike and there is a nominal charge of $5 for them!

The Dempsey Challenge presented by Amgen is a fundraising experience for The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine.

Comprised of various cycling distances (10, 25, 50, 70 and 100 miles), and a 5K (3.1 mile) and 10K (6.2 mile) run/walk, participants 18 and over are required to raise $150 (and encouraged to raise even more!) as they prepare for The Dempsey Challenge.

The Dempsey Center provides free support, education and wellness services to anyone affected by cancer regardless of where treatment is received. More information on Patrick’s personal story and commitment, as well as services provided by the Dempsey Center, can be found at www.dempseycenter.org

Tom will ride with the 2,000 recreational cyclists throughout the day as they complete the challenging Coors Classic route through the Colorado National Monument. The route was also featured in the movie American Flyers. The Colorado National Monument is just outside of Grand Junction, Colorado. The event will sell out shortly as there are only a limited number of entries available.
